Join the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation Volunteers!

San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, a 16 ½ block Historic District in the Heart of Downtown San Diego, has a very active volunteer group. Our volunteers are dedicated to promoting the history and culture of one of the largest collections of historic structures in the country.

There are lots of fun ways to get involved with the Gaslamp Quarter community!

Museum Docents - Seeking fun people who love to tell stories to give tours of the William Heath Davis Historic House Museum. Each room is filled with furnishings and artifacts that represent a different period in the life of the house, ranging from 1850 to 1915. There are lots of interesting stories to tell about this old house, and we are always seeking fun people to tell them!! The museum is open T-Sa, 10am-6pm and Su 9-3.

Tour Guides - Seeking lively people to give walking tours of the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. The Gaslamp Quarter is filled with historic structures of various architectural styles, each with their own story to tell. Our tour guides entertain guests with tales of San Diego, from when the Gaslamp's main inhabitants were fleas and jackrabbits to the present day premiere dining and entertainment district. The tour departs from the William Heath Davis Historic House Museum every Saturday at 11am, and whenever requested by private groups of 6 or more.

Special Events - Want to have fun, meet people, and help a worthy cause at the same time? The Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation has several fundraising and promotional events each year, and we always need willing volunteers. ShamROCK, the KIFM Jazz Festival, A Walk Through Time Tour, and the Fall Back Festival are just a few of the fun ways you can help us in our effort to promote the historical, architectural, cultural and educational importance of the Gaslamp Quarter. At the events, you might sell beverages, take tickets, pour beer, run a carnival booth for kids, or even dress up and play a part in one of our living history programs!

No matter what you are interested in, the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation has a fun volunteer opportunity for you.
