San Diego Gaslamp Entertainment for Children
Children's Historical Walking Tour

The Gaslamp Quarter and the William Heath Davis House are important educational tools. They provide an excellent opportunity to present the history of the Gaslamp and the beginnings of San Diego to schoolchildren in a unique setting. Our historic house is filled with artifacts that are unknown to modern children, and is obviously lacking contemporary conveniences, like TV's and computers, to which children are so accustomed. They find a visit to the museum fascinating.

Our educational programs, like the new Children's Historical Walking Tour and the Fall Back Festival, are designed to teach children about the history of the area in a tangible way. Coming soon is the Virtual Tour Learning Center, an interactive computer center that will attract today's "techno-savvy" youth, create excitement and interest, and present Gaslamp Quarter history in a whole new way.

At the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation, we believe children are the keepers of our heritage, and these programs ensure that through them, the past is not lost in our rush to advance to the future.
