Children's Historical Walking Tour
Experience what life was like for the children of the late 1800's. The morning begins with a tour of the oldest and most historically significant building in downtown San Diego, the William Heath Davis House, where kids learn about the chores and responsibilities of kids in the 1880's, about the difficulties with simple tasks like cooking and cleaning, about mail delivery, and the hardships faced by their counterparts a few generations ago (what, no XBOX?). The kids then tour the Gaslamp Quarter, where they learn about communities and architecture. Each student receives a workbook and building cut out to reinforce what they have learned.
Audience: 2nd - 5th Grade
Time: 2 Hours
Fee: $6.00 per person (small groups of about 20 is recommended)
Call or email The Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation for more information about this great learning opportunity for your group!
